What does it mean to be a HUB member?June 20, 2013 11:03 AM
Braden Rawls, CEO of Vital Plan and one of our inaugural members, recently discussed what it means to her to be apart of the HUB community. We are thrilled to play even a small role in the growth and success of Vital Plan and enjoy having Braden and her team in our space. Here's what she had to say:
"At this time last year I was a lone entrepreneur, working out of coffee shops and feeling disconnected from many of my peers who were working their way up in corporate or professional positions. Vital Plan was growing and I hired our first two employees, but I could not find an upbeat office space to rent that would be a good fit for our startup company. Little did I know, that there were actually many other high-impact entrepreneurs in my area experiencing some of the same frustrations.
Becoming a part of HUB Raleigh in October 2012 changed everything. Vital Plan was one of the first companies to sign on as a tenant of HUB Raleigh, but it quickly became apparent that it would be much more than just an office space for us. It was as if a light switch was turned on – entrepreneurs from all over Raleigh emerged from the shadows and wanted to be a part of the HUB Raleigh community. Professional organizations and corporations also were drawn to the concept, and HUB Raleigh quickly became a central meeting space that brought together energy and ideas for bringing positive change to downtown Raleigh and the greater Triangle.
The way that the HUB Raleigh community has taken off is inspiring. I am proud to be part of a group of people who are passionate about making Raleigh a top place to work and live. Being a part of this community has become an integral part of my life and something that I think and talk about every day. I feel that this community has so much potential to grow and have a significant impact in downtown Raleigh, and I look forward to being involved long-term with this community of high-impact entrepreneurs."
