Tech Talent South Expands to HQ

Tech Talent South, an Atlanta-based code education startup, is proud to announce its recent expansion to the Triangle. Tech Talent South will be the first code education academy of its kind in the Triangle; such code education opportunities were previously only available in large metropolitan areas. Their Triangle presence will be headquartered at HQ Raleigh, an entrepreneurial workspace that is home to over 60 local startup companies.

Tech Talent South provides immersive, beginner-focused web development and coding courses as well as developer mentorship to its students across the Southeast. Since launching in Atlanta, Tech Talent South has added campuses in Athens, GA, Asheville, NC, Charlotte, NC, and now, Raleigh. Cofounders Richard Simms and Betsy Hauser Idilbi, the latter a Charlotte native and UNC alumni, knew that the burgeoning tech hub would be a perfect fit for the program as the demand for skilled developers in the area continues to grow.

Tech Talent South offers a full-time Code Immersion program, part-time evening courses, as well as its popular free youth code Thursdays and an Intro to Game Development course. Its graduates range from a medical doctor who left her own practice to learn code and join a startup, business owners, members of Doctors Without Borders who will use the course to build an app for improving medical treatment in Ghana, to those simply looking for new opportunities or learn to code.

"Our graduates are incredible and a testament to the many ways that people are using technology to dream up new solutions and change the world. They bring amazing ideas to the table, and Tech Talent South helps them turn those ideas into reality," said cofounder Richard Simms.

Courses at Tech Talent South's Triangle campus begin April 7, 2014 at the new HQ Raleigh location in the Warehouse District. The programs will also include mentorship from local developers and entrepreneurs, special guest speakers, and team building excursions. Applications are currently being accepted on the Tech Talent South website:
