City of Raleigh Announces Support of HQ Raleigh-Citrix Venture Accelerator
On the heels of last week’s Citrix Venture Accelerator Innovators Program announcement, HQ Raleigh is excited to announce a strategic partnership with the City of Raleigh to directly support the accelerator program this fall.
The three-month residency program, which also takes place in Silicon Valley and other locations across the globe, seeks to cultivate breakthrough mobile, cloud, and collaboration technologies. The Raleigh program will be located at the new Citrix-Sharefile office in the Warehouse District.
Says James Sauls, Manager of Raleigh’s Office of Economic Development, “Our office is excited about the partnership with the HQ-Citrix Accelerator. Public-private partnerships are exactly what we seek to establish, as they allow the City to support and grow the types of technologies we want to have here in Raleigh.”
As a public partner, the City of Raleigh will enable teams to access capital connections and civic resources, while also enhancing the program’s impact on Raleigh’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Additionally, the City will offer an opportunity for teams to apply for city funds if they locate their ventures in Raleigh.
"Citrix's presence in Raleigh is helping to transform our City into one of the top centers of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. The accelerator will help Raleigh startups and also expose others outside the area to our community," said Raleigh City Councilor Mary-Ann Baldwin. "This is exciting news."
Applications for the Citrix Venture Accelerator are now open, and the program officially begins on September 17th. The accelerator provides mentorship, lean startup coaching, and workspace to ten early-stage startups with a primary focus on developing innovative technologies.
