Citrix Announces Innovators Program in Partnership with HQ Raleigh

New Accelerator Model Spurring Innovation By Connecting Top Entrepreneurs With Leading-Edge Technology, Practices And Global Network of Innovators

Citrix and HQ Raleigh have partnered to launch the Citrix Startup Accelerator Innovators Program in Raleigh, NC. The three-month residency at key locations around the world, cultivates breakthrough mobile, cloud, and collaboration technologies by leveraging the expertise of Citrix and key partners. The Innovators Program successfully concluded in Silicon Valley last month and is now scaling globally.

Ten teams will be selected to receive support, in-depth training, and a workspace at the new Citrix Sharefile office in the Warehouse District. The ultra-modern space includes high tech meeting rooms and workstations, a living wall, and rooftop restaurant. It is a fitting place to design the revolutionary mobile workstyle technologies of the future.

The Program, to be facilitated by HQ Raleigh and Citrix staff, blends leading-edge collaboration, design thinking and lean startup approaches. Innovation teams will learn to develop and bring to market business technology offerings that focus on meeting user needs and help people work better. Nascent entrepreneurial teams will learn alongside new corporate product teams, and will also receive seed funding. Participants will receive mentoring and guidance from seasoned business executives, industry leaders and venture capital investors.

“The focus of the Innovators Program is on accelerating breakthrough business solutions and openly sharing approaches that have been integral to Citrix innovation,” said John McIntyre, Managing Director of The Citrix Startup Accelerator. “We are building bridges between Silicon Valley and other innovation ecosystems to help new companies succeed in this dynamic and transformative mobile era.”

“We’re helping entrepreneurs build the next-generation of breakthrough technologies and companies,” said Jesse Lipson VP & GM of Data Sharing for Citrix, which acquired his company ShareFile in 2011. “Though I’ve been part of Citrix for several years now, I still feel like and approach my work like an entrepreneur and I want to help the Research Triangle area become a top-five region for entrepreneurship and innovation in the U.S.”

The Citrix Startup Accelerator /HQ Raleigh Innovators Program is looking for great teams ready to test their business model. Applications for the program are now open. Selected teams will be revealed at the Innovate Raleigh Summit on September 10th and the program officially begins on September 17th.
