Google Corporate Development to speak at HQ

On Wednesday, September 18th, HQ Raleigh will host a moderated panel with Anil Patel, Corporate Development at Google. Anil is in town to speak at the CED Tech Venture Conference on Tuesday and hopes to further engage with the local entrepreneurial community through this discussion. He plans to talk about some of Google's newest products and how they select companies for strategic and corporate partnerships.


Anil joined Google's Corporate Development team in 2011, coming from a diverse background as a venture capital investor, attorney and software developer.  He currently leads strategic deal activity for several product areas at Google, including Chrome and Apps, Google[x], and a number of initiatives for Knowledge.

Prior to joining Google, Anil was a Venture Partner with Clearstone Venture Partners in Menlo Park, where he led investments in the cloud apps, internet infrastructure and enterprise domains.  Prior to Clearstone, Anil was a venture capitalist at Azure Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners, where he invested in and advised companies in the communications and internet spaces.  Anil was previously a securities and M&A attorney focused on venture-backed startups at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.  He began his career as a software developer at IMC in McLean, VA, developing large-scale financial database systems for the US Department of State and Department of Defense. Anil holds an A.B. in Philosophy and Economics from Stanford University, and J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Columbia University.
